On arrival in Vienna, we found our rented apartment out at Simmering, dropped our bags and caught the U-bahn into the city. Getting off at Landstraße in the city centre, it was almost dark, so we walked on to see as much as possible in the remaining light before finding a meal later on. We walked along the Danube Canal to Leopoldplatz, and continued down to the Danube River at the Reichebruche, where we walked the footpath and took this photo of the St. Franziskus von Assisi church in the twilight.

After catching the U-bahn back into the Stephansplatz station, we walked around the medieval St Stephan cathedral and found a bratwurst stand.
