After our tour of The Bunker museum in the morning, Rhys took us back onto the trains and walked to the Markthalle Neun, a food and drink market for lunch. After browsing the stalls, we bought some street food for lunch and ate in a park. Later we walked along the bank of the Spree, stopping to check a remnant of the Berlin Wall that remains as a monument. After a rest, we were off to an Indian restaurant for dinner, and later grabbed a beer to drink as we walked the streets around the Brandenburg Tor.
We met again Sunday morning at the Brandenburg gate, where Birgit was intrigued by this busker who arrived with his upright piano on the back of his bicycle trailer, and played symphony music to the accompaniment of his boom box.
A rain front moved in after this, and after hours of drizzle, we were able to venture out again, finding some very interesting markets around east Berlin and then on to look at a memorial of the Berlin Wall at the old Checkpoint Charlie.
