We were told that dairy products would be hard to obtain in Indonesia.
Yoghurt is a breakfast staple, and we make our own with powdered milk, so we left Cairns with thirty something one kilo bags of powdered milk. By the time we were at Gove, it was time to top up again, with another 8kg. We probably ate another 2kg on the trip to Tual, but after checking the big GOTA supermarket at Langgur and finding no dried milk, we decided it is time to ration. Going through all the cupboards, we found a total of 26kg of full cream milk powder. The equation to make that last the full six months of our visa is easy. So we’ve cut back on milk in tea and coffee, and no more making a glass of milk to glug.
A week down now, and not one new bag has been opened, so we should make it ok, but still need one or two for the trip back to Australia at the end.
