Also on Hook Island is the deep bay of Nara Inlet. We anchored first in Refuge Cove near the entrance, and were mobbed with tame Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, while under the boat, we were befriended by a huge Grouper, with a mouth as big as a bucket. When we later moved further up the inlet to be closer to the Aboriginal cave art, the Grouper followed us.
It is very late in the season, and most of the cruising boats have moved well south along the coast already, so we are enjoying some isolation in what is usually a very busy anchorage.
