Summer on board SeeBeeZee is determined by marine insurance that is concerned about the occurrence of cyclones. Our insurance states that we have no cover in a named storm (read cyclone) if north of Mooloolaba in summer. In previous years, we have remained in Moreton Bay or sailed down the NSW coast, but this has not been ideal, with the severe storms in that part of the world making life unpleasant. This year, we feel that our house is being well looked after by a lovely couple of caretakers, and have decided to spread our wings and travel further, escaping the cyclone season by going north into Indonesia.
We took our time heading up the North Queensland Coast, enjoying our anchorages as we moved towards Nhullunbuy in Arnhem Land, where we will leave Australia to head for Indonesia for the summer. These are the stories of our trip along the coast of Far North Queensland.
