Plastic waste is a major problem in Indonesia. We saw no rubbish facilities anywhere. In some places there was an arrangement for rubbish to be left in a particular place from where it was collected for burning. This rubbish pollutes the reefs that we visited, but this plastic also travels on wind and currents to northern Australia.
