At the south end of Vansittart Bay is in inlet called Pauline Bay on the charts, or Jalandal on the Uunguu permit. Walking from the beach where we left the dinghy towards the big art gallery, we found some rock structures that appeared to be suitable shelter for people, and on investigation, found this most amazing cave. It was formed at the junction of two intersecting faults, so was formed as a cross, with two main levels and flat elevated platforms. On the floor of he cave, we found a large rock that had been used as an anvil for making sharp stone edges, and on an elevated platform, found three basins that had been ground out of the rock and are surrounded with paint, suggesting that this is where the paint was made.
