We took a long dinghy ride from the anchorage to reach the beach at the most southern point of West Governor Island, and then walked a little beach and a very long beach to reach a little rocky cove where fish and birds were congregating.
After the really really long and hot walk back to the dinghy, a little patch of sand surrounded by rocks to ward off predators was a reward that made it all worthwhile.
