We remained in the marina at Bayview until early April, when our friends Loc and Dee came to help us out through the narrow concrete canyon that is the lock on the marina that retains a pond of water when the tides drop up to 8 meters. We enjoyed staying on board at Bayview, with the toilets and showers very close by to our berth, and a bus to the city just across the road. We took that opportunity to bring bags of food back to the boat almost every day, stocking up for the long trip out to the Kimberley that we are planning for.
From Bayview, we anchored out off Fannie Bay, going ashore at the Darwin Sailing Club, where we could leave the dinghy while we went out on the buses, or filling up with water. We also had the opportunity to beach SeeBeeZee near the sailing club careening poles and inspect the underwater sections, both for our peace of mind and to satisfy the surveyor who completed and inspection for our insurance company.
We finally left from Fannie Bay yesterday, but have only come around the first point and anchored in Tapa Bay while we ensure all is ready for the winderness of the Kimberley that is about to come. Our insurance company are not able to immediately change our area of coverage as they have been in the past, as they are very busy today dealing with the boat show on the Gold Coast. Hopefully it will be sorted later today and we will be free to head off further tomorrow.
